Monday Inspiration: #GetItGirl

I'm pretty sure that if I were single or lived with a bunch of girlfriends, this mantra would be displayed all over my entire house. From prints to pillow cases to tees and beyond, this saying really just speaks to me. I seriously love it! And since I've got some MAHJ stuff happening in my life right now.. it's also appropriate for getting my butt in gear and making &$@! happen! So let's take in a little Monday Inspiration and then conquer the universe together, shall we?!

We already know how I feel about graphic tees. This Shop Dandy one needs to get in my life STAT!

Pencils on your desk with this motivational mantra? Ummm.. talk about a productive work day.

I'd stamp the hell out of errrrrrrythang with this piece of cuteness. For reeeeeeelz.

Why hello there - wouldn't you be a lovely sight to see every time I walk inside my apartment (especially when I need a blogging push after a long day of work!)

Selfies are instantly encouraged to step up their game with the simple mirror image of this iphone cover (more colors are available!)

Hope you're officially motivated to kick Monday in the booty!! xo

Pinspiration: Wedge Sneakers

Okay... so I need your help. I've been wavering on the wedge sneaker trend for a while. I bought a pair last year but ended up returning them after thinking I couldn't pull them off. But for some reason they've stayed on my mind. And after finding these clearance, I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could work them into my style. So where did I turn to get some inspiration? Pinterest of course! And I found a ton of ideas on how to wear this wedge sneaker trend. Let's take a look at some of my pinspiration....

Miranda Kerr shows us how it's done. Her leather leggings and cable knit sweater are an awesome pairing with her bright red kicks.

I figured there's no better time than spring to bust out these heeled shoes - I love the distressed cutoffs and slouchy tee this model opted for. Might be my new off duty look!

I plan on transitioning these into fall so I love the chunky knit, scarf & comfy jeans options this blogger styled. It looks so cozy!

I've got a full on obsession with leather pieces right now. This vintage tee/leather miniskirt combo would look amazing with any footwear - but I love the "street chic" vibe these wedge sneakers give this look

I practically live in black leggings and a sweater, no matter the occasion - spice up your outfit with a neutral pair of sneakers & a striped version like Naomi Watts' patterned pullover.

This is the perfect combo of my favorite dressing up/dressing down option. The skirt & sparkly sweater add a dressy element to the casual tan sneakers yet the ensemble still looks effortlessly cool. Love!

What about you? Have you tried this trend out yet? I'm itching to wear my pair so bring on the inspiration!

Inspiration: A Little Pick Me Up

Lately, I've been feeling a bit un-inspired. I can't seem to enjoy shooting outfits and have been feeling a bit discouraged on this blog. I'm not really sure what's the reason for this out-of-wack funk but I'm hoping a few gorgeous images can shake it.....

There's no use crying over spilled sequins!

I want to put on my fanciest dress, board a plane & just go...

Tons & tons of pink champagne is always a good thing

You're never too old for a pinata when glitter is involved

Whatever woman says she doesn't like flowers... don't listen to her... always buy the flowers

I mean what gal wouldn't love Pink Gold? Maybe I should re-think my wedding rings ;)

Sometimes a gorgeous gown just needs a hot pink cardigan

Words to live by

Pinspiration: Riding Boots

This hot weather in LA is giving me Cabin Fever! With my wardrobe that is... I'm ready to pull out jeans, scarves, chunky knits, and most importantly - boots! I can't wait to show you guys my deal of a century that I shared last week on Twitter. I'm sure that you can guess from this post that they're a pair of riding boots - I scored them from DSW last week while visiting my family. They're was one teeny tiny thing wrong with them so I'm picking them up tomorrow from my shoe guy. You're seriously going to die when I tell you about them.

Until then... here are my inspiring photos I've been pinning of ways I can wear my new babies.... Don't forget to follow me on pinterest too!

Transition a super cutesy dress into fall

Pair with a whimsical animal sweater for a grown up yet playful option

Printed shorts & tights provide a great combo with knee high boots

Update a pencil skirt and bright sweater with a sleek set for fab fall fashion

Make your colored denim last throught the cooler months with a vintage inspired pair

Give your basic black denim a preppy chic vibe

Pinspiration: Weekend Cutoffs

Since leaving my regular 9-5, Saturdays have turned into quite the workday for me. (Bill has days off during the week so we use those as our weekend days) For everyone else out there, Saturdays are a time to let loose with your wardrobe. Insert my favorite - denim cutoff shorts. I gathered up some of my favorite ways to wear them {via my Pinterest} and thought I'd share these outfit ideas with you. Let's take a look shall we?

An oversized sweater makes your cutoffs comfy and cozy

Try a printed top and structured wedges for your next summertime party

A white button up with colored cutoffs is a breath of fresh air!

Add boho chic accessories like ankle booties, a fringe bag & larger than life pendant

Dress up your shorts with a bold blazer or printed jacket. Neutral flats keep it ladylike

Sparkle in the daytime with a sequin top and boyfriend shorts

Take it easy and pair your majorly distressed shorts with a burnout tee, tribal clutch & chic sunnies

What's your favorite way to wear cutoffs?

Inspiration: Positive Thinking

What a wonderful week I've had - the best in a while actually. Which was a welcome change for sure! For quite some time now  it seemed that I was just stuck in a rut - like a pile of quicksand. The more I struggled the deeper into the pit I went. Luckily, I have some very special ladies in my life who helped me snap out of it. The funny part is that I didn't really do much of anything. Except change my attitude! Most days it's easy to get bogged down by life's daily challenges and harder to focus on the good happenings. When I saw this quote on Pinterest a few days ago it really spoke to me and reminded me that some days I need to just let it go. We all spend so much time and energy focused on what we can do to further our careers, be a better wife/girlfriend/sister/mother etc... that some times it's OK to just rely on timing and take a break from the path. Stop running at full speed and take a moment to look around at what you've got! It also helps when you give yourself a little pep in your step - kind of like that quote that goes something like "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination" Pretty powerful stuff when you stop and think about it! So I plan to thoroughly enjoy this weekend by doing little things - taking a walk on the beach, splurging (gasp!) on some delicious food and spending quality time with my hubby. I hope that we can all be reminded to be thankful for this life that we have! So get inspired to change your attitude and enjoy the little things! Happy Friday lovelies!! xoxo

New Obsession: Pinterest

Ok - so this post may be a little late to the game - but better late than never right?! I joined Pinterest about 6 months ago when Katie couldn't stop telling me how amazing it was. I told her I didn't really "get it" What is this? I asked. Is this worth all the time people spent on it? Why are so many people talking about this site? She convinced me to join and well... let's just say I have been pretty much hooked ever since. In fact, it's totally taken up most of my blog research time as of late! (though I think it technically could be research!) I find myself sitting on my couch pinning and then I look up and 2 or 3 hours have gone by... Yes it's that addicting.

If you still aren't sure exactly what Pinterest is - here's the breakdown. It's an online inspiration board. The site let's you collect all the things from the internet that you love, want to cook, want to DIY, want to make, want to decorate [this list goes on... and on.. and on] It's kind of like when you read a magazine and tear out pages of inspiration or recipes that you intend on trying. Only 6 months rolls around and you're combing your house up and down for that tiny piece of paper that you ultimately never find? Yeah, I know you know that feeling! This eliminates stacks of papers, cut outs, recipe cards and just the general mess and craziness that comes with making a inspiration board.

You can create as many inspiration boards as you want with just about anything you can think of. The boards that are getting the most action from me right now are my Style Inspiration, Style CrushesTattoo Ideas, Braided Hairstyles and of course... my Ryan Gosling board (sigh) But I've got so many other ones too!

My favorite part is probably the fashion posts. I love seeing what real girls are wearing and then trying out their ideas with my own twist. I guess I've been totally inspired. And with that sentence, we've come full circle in the world of Pinterest....

So if you haven't joined start! Follow me here and I can't wait to see what you start pinning! Happy Tuesday everyone!!

xoxo
