Pinspiration: Overalls

I can't even believe I'm typing this post. When this trend began to emerge again I thought "There is NO WAY I am ever wearing those again" Well Nikki, better open wide because I'm about to eat a huge mouthful of my words. Read My Lips: I've fallen in love with the Overalls Trend. However, the new versions that I'm referring to aren't your typical pair of 90's dunagrees. For 2014 it's all about skinny legs and slimmer fits. I've rounded up a few pinspiration photos with ideas on how to rock this style as well as some super rad options for you to shop. You know, for when you're ready to dive back into the overalls pool. Let's go through them together shall we?

Now these dark denim overalls are definitely a piece any lady can get behind. The darker the rinse and the skinnier the leg, the more modern they look!

Love the idea of black denim in the form of overalls - the cute sneakers & gingham button up are icing on the cake!

If you're not sure about the overalls trend, maybe try a different material than denim. This maroon leather option, paired with a printed top and statement necklace, keep the outfit fun and fresh.

If you're wanting to sport a pair in a lighter wash, use tailored and feminine pieces to revamp an otherwise casual ensemble. The use of a structured bag, polka dot blouse and forest green pumps, like above, are ideal for a patchwork distressed pair of overalls.

I adore the idea of a chambray tied around the waist - so 90's, yes I know. Pepper in chic accessories like cognac ankle booties and a striped long sleeve to transform your look from flat out nostalgia to fabulously reminiscent.

This last look is one of my favorites. Combine rinses with an ombré light to dark pair then top off with lots of sparkling jewelry and metallic pumps. Again, notice the slim cut leg? Makes the entire outfit seem much cleaner and more put together.

So what do you think? Are you ready to plunge [back] into overalls? I can't decide between shorts or pants.. decisions, decisions! Shop some fabulous picks below!

Pinspiration: Crop Tops for Spring & Summer

With the very short and very brief burst of warm weather I experience last week, I realized it's time to start thinking about my spring wardrobe! And since I scooped up about 3 crop tops last fall, I am ready to start thinking up how I want to style them come warm temps.. oh and probably 2-a-day workouts to go with them. I've also found some amazing options that you can pick up right now!

I love the idea of a textured crop top with a simple maxi dress. Add a bold accessory and a super fun pony and you've got an instant summer date night outfit.

image via
Crop tops don't always have to be casual. Go fancy by pairing a short sleeve version with a glittering sequin pencil skirt.

image via
Can I just saw how obsessed I am with this edgy meets feminine look. The booties and black bra really sell it for me

image via
Another awesome casual version involves printed pants and a denim vest. This will help you feel more covered up if you're worried about showing too much skin.

I never thought I could pull off the whole crop-top-with-denim-cutoffs look. But this look totally makes me think I can with the oversize shorts and flat sandals.

Here are some of my favorite options that are currently up for grabs:

3 Ways To Wear It - Tulle Skirt

Space 46 Boutique Ivory "Wendy" Tulle Skirt
Outfit 1: TopShop knitted chunky sweater || Sole Society "Skylar" ankle bootie || GiGi New York "All In One" Clutch in emerald
Outfit 3: Line & Dot sequin top || LuLu's SixtySeven "Layla" cut out bootie || Michael Kors "Bradshaw" watch in black/gold

Let's get real - what little girl didn't love twirling around in a bright pink tutu? I know I did! I'd put my ballet outfits on even when it wasn't time for me to go to the studio. There's something about a big ball of tulle that just makes a girl feel so giddy, am I right?

Well now that we're [kind of] adults it's time to bring back the tutu! But no, please. Don't make it bright pink and definitely don't make it short. The grown-up tutu skirt is now referred to as "The Tulle Skirt". Most of them are midi length and have been all the rage lately. I for one have had this Space 46 Boutique option on my wish list ever since I came across them on instagram one day. It seems to hit right at the knee, making it not quite a midi length, but still very ladylike. Can we also talk price? It's only 68 bucks!! That is a freaking steal compared to the almost $200 one Anthropologie put out last fall.

So here are 3 super fun (and super adult) ways I'd style this piece. The first outfit has a slightly western feel between the ankle booties and comfy sweater. The GiGi clutch keeps it feminie and girly. The second ensemble is a mix between comfy and casual. I mean, what outfit doesn't look good with a chambray button up, statement necklace and glitter heels? Last, but definitely not least, is just for this blog's namesake. A sequin top, chunky mirrored mules and the new version of my favorite watch are just what I need for my dream grown-up tutu outfit.

So what do you think? How would you style your Space 46 skirt? Oh and P.S. don't forget that today is the absolute last day for my ILY Couture giveaway!! I hope you've entered! xoxo

I'm pretty sure that if I were single or lived with a bunch of girlfriends, this mantra would be displayed all over my entire house. From prints to pillow cases to tees and beyond, this saying really just speaks to me. I seriously love it! We already know how I feel about graphic tees. This Shop Dandy one needs to get in my life STAT!

Pencils on your desk with this motivational mantra? Ummm.. talk about a productive work day.

End Of Summer Inspo: Erin Wasson x Vogue Netherlands

As much as I seriously hate to admit it.. I'm glad that we're right on the edge of Fall. I'm so ready for Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Sweaters over leggings, boots, scarves, crisp weather and color changing leaves. So in honor of the technical "last weekend of summer" and the hopes that we'll finally get some cooler weather (these 85+ degree days with humidity are killing me), I wanted to share this fun fashion editorial from June's issue of Vogue Netherlands.

The always gorgeous Erin Wasson shows off her flexibility and gorgeous beach curls proving that summer really is all about letting loose and having fun.

Happy early Labor Day weekend y'all!

Now Trending: Ruffle Hem Trumpet Skirts

The more I think about it.. the more excited about Fall I get. And with a change in season usually comes a change in trends. However there is one chic piece from Spring/Summer that I'm excited about transitioning to the cooler months. The Trumpet Hem Skirt. This ruffled beauty has been showing up all over the runways and blogs these last few months. See a few of my favorite ways to style it and shop the look below:

Graphic tees are all the rage right now.. love the idea of dressing down a feminine skirt with a rocker inspired tee

Is there anything that a chambray button up won't go with? The answer is no. Throw on some flats and a sparkly necklace and instant girly outfit.

As the temps start too cool off I literally get giddy with glee at the thought of pulling out my sweaters. I love the way this cozy knit paired with some neutral sandals and shades changes a summer look into an early fall one.

I'm still red-hot over black and white. What's not to love about this two-toned outfit? Never underestimate the power of a white tee, even if it has long sleeves. (p.s. she MADE that skirt!)

Printed versions are best paired with solid pieces - and turtlenecks are the perfect way to make it through winter in style and keep warm.

Who would have thought that black tights would become such a staple in my cold weather wardrobe (I hated them as a kid) So perfect with a bright bold option (and a printed blouse!)

What do you think? Are you into this trend? Here's a few budget friendly options for you to try !

Pinspiration: Winter Hats

I don't know about you, but I can't stop thinking about Winter Hats. Wide brims, ribbon/leather trims and an oversized fit literally make me giddy with glee. Hats are perfect to either to finish off a casual ensemble or dress down a fancy look in an unexpected way. And ever since I stole borrowed this hat from my Dad, I've been racking my brain on how to wear it. Enter Pinterest! So here are some of the fabulous photos I found to inspire me - I hope they encourage you to create some outfit magic with a fun topper too!

Try a printed cardigan, ankle boots & dark skinnies

A two-toned bright option is perfect with a bold dress, toggle coat & leather booties

When is a chambray shirt ever not a good idea with leggings & a floppy hat??

A cocoon sweater, ballet flats & wrists full of bracelets are the pefect "off duty" companions to this wide brim choice

image via

A leather trim & wool hat won't give your denim on denim look the blues - I guarantee it!

Try to dress down leather leggings & neon pumps with an black floppy version

Inspiration: A Little Pick Me Up

Lately, I've been feeling a bit un-inspired. I can't seem to enjoy shooting outfits and have been feeling a bit discouraged on this blog. I'm not really sure what's the reason for this out-of-wack funk but I'm hoping a few gorgeous images can shake it.....

There's no use crying over spilled sequins!

I want to put on my fanciest dress, board a plane & just go...

Tons & tons of pink champagne is always a good thing

You're never too old for a pinata when glitter is involved

Whatever woman says she doesn't like flowers... don't listen to her... always buy the flowers

I mean what gal wouldn't love Pink Gold? Maybe I should re-think my wedding rings ;)

Sometimes a gorgeous gown just needs a hot pink cardigan

Words to live by
