Video: Celebrating 4 Years...

Today, Billy and I are celebrating our 4th anniversary. Not exactly a "milestone" in terms of 5,10,15 etc.... but it's been an extremely exciting year for us. We've accomplished a lot of goals we set out to meet when when said "I Do" I couldn't more proud of where we're at right now.

Marriage is never easy and we've certainly learned a lot about each other and ourselves over the past 6 years together. But knowing that I get share my ups and downs with him is a comfort and joy that I can't explain.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of our photos digitally, so I thought I would share one of our videos with you readers. Our videographer was so amazing and clever, creating "Trailers" and "Music Videos" with scenes from our big day. Here's one that's so cute!

Last week's lazy hair day actually turned into a majorly good hair day! My super fun and very easy fishtail braid got so many compliments! But I secretly love how much it shows off my blonde locks.

Hot on the heels of my neon craze, I spotted tons of the bright colors at Gap! That orange is phenom!

I've been pretty disciplined about sticking my eating plan but I had to splurge on an In-N-Out double double Friday night. SO worth it!

I took this Friday off (a very rare occurrence) and we spent the weekend in Palm Springs with our friends Melanie & Andrew. It was so wonderful to get in some much need R&R and spend quality time with friends!

I finally gave in and started reading The Hunger Games... totally hooked!

This weekend finally had gorgeous weather and I think it might have kicked me out of my funk.. well at least a little bit! Between spending time outside, getting together with friends and some (much needed) quiet time I thoroughly enjoyed a 2 day break from the daily grind. In other BAD news... we're finally on Facebook! I scored this beyond fabulous Naven dress from a HauteLook sale a few weeks ago. It arrived last week and I can't wait to wear it!

Saturday was filled with seeing many friends including a blogging date with Pursuit Of Shoes (thanks for coming to the westside!) We ended the night at our neighbors chatting around a fire and eating cake. One of the things I miss most from home is a fireplace so this was a real treat!

Sunday brought almost 80 degree weather so Billy and I headed out for a hike. I'm not exactly an outdoor girl but this view is well worth it - it hasn't been this clear in a while!

After our hike I just had to splurge on one of my favorite dishes at Blue Plate Santa Monica - the BP Egg White Frittata! YUM!

President's Weekend [photos]

Ahhhh... a 3 day weekend... Oh how I miss it already! Sorry I've been a little MIA lately... I've been under the weather for over a week now and can't seem to shake this sickness.. so I have a lot of catch up posts coming up in the new couple of weeks! For now I thought I would share a bit of photos from my long weekend!

With the long weekend I finally had the time to try out some recipes from a cookbook my Mom gave me for Christmas! So far we've had several meals from Secrets of a Skinny Chef and I must say I'm extremely impressed and pleased with the results!

Sunday night was "Date Night" at one of our favorite sushi places Bonzai. It's all the way in Calabasas and while we were eating we realized we hadn't been there in almost 2 years! I broke out my new pink colored denim from Old Navy and my Sole Society "Sasha" pumps

I found these GORGEOUS colored flowers while browsing the market yesterday. I had to stop myself from buying a bunch of these bold and bright beauties! Can you believe these are the actual colors? No photo app needed!

I am so obsessed with this little guy!

Christmas Weekend [photos]

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah! Billy and I had the rare occasion of having both Saturday & Sunday off together! It was a fabulous {and quiet} weekend that involved lots of eating, shopping and being thankful for what we have!

Christmas Eve we went shopping and I scored this fab J Crew dress for 35 bucks with an original price of $395! Talk about a steal...

This was The Jacky on Christmas night... talk about being exhausted! We think he had too much eggnog....

Nothing warms my heart more than a big pot of soup during the fall and winter. I made an amazing Italian Wedding one that was delish!

My lovely vintage sparkles! I wore it for my costume this weekend. It's a bit big but so fabulous.

I can never eat just one dessert from the amazing Babalu in Santa Monica. Friday night we had pumpkin cheesecake and chocolate pecan pie [not pictured]... they were heavenly!

My Best Friend's Wedding [Photos]

I promise I had a good excuse for being such an absentee blogger a few weeks ago... and here it is: My BFF's wedding! Jenna and I have known each other for 11 years and I couldn't ask for a better best friend. Words that come to mind when I think of her: Kind, Sweet, Caring. No matter what happens in our lives, she's always been there for me - even when I'm not being the greatest friend. She's taught me a lot about life and I'm so incredibly thankful to have someone like her in mine. So on October 1st, I got to watch her take the first steps towards her new life with her amazing husband, Sean. The wedding location was a gorgeous estate in North Carolina. And even though the entire week before had been filled with a major heat wave/rain storms, Saturday morning brought perfect Fall temperatures and pure sunshine all day long. Along with an absolutely beautiful wedding, it was great to catch up with my wonderful group of friends from High School. Here are some snapshots courtesy of her photographer {Evoke}and yours truly. Labor Day in San Francisco [Photos]

This past weekend we spent the holiday in San Francisco for a wedding. It was my first time there and while the weather wasn't the greatest I really enjoyed spending time with friends who live far away! That's one of my favorite parts about wedding weekends. I'm a little under the weather this week [from my trip of course...] so sorry this is such a belated post!

The weather was so crummy but it was still amazing to see the Golden Gate bridge! A pretty overwhelming site...

The wedding had a photobooth - I love playing around with these!

Monday we got to spend the afternoon back home at the beach. While we usually love the Venice skateboard area, we found a new place to people watch - Venice "Roller Rink" - pure awesomeness.

Friday marked my 25th birthday - one I have honestly been dreading. But the sight of some of my sweet cards helped brighten it a little.

A few of my fabulous gifts: bangles from my BFF Jenna; gift cards from my brother and parents; and the cutest one of all - homemade concert tickets my hubby created since the real ones aren't here yet. We're going to Incubus in October!

I was at home in North Carolina this weekend and got to spend some quality time with my entire family - I miss them so much! Although we forgot to take a family photo I squeezed one in with my mom!

While at home we had Jenna's bridal shower & bachelorette weekend. I had the most delicious cake I've ever tasted at the shower. Had to break my diet plan for this baby. YUM.

Jen wanted a relaxed weekend for her bach festivities. So we spent the time at my family's beach house in Topsail. It's one of my favorite places and I can actually get into the ocean!

I've been so busy with my new job - sorry posts have been sparse! Happy Tuesday!

Happy 3rd Anniversary to Us!

I know I try to keep this blog as fashion-focused as possible but I had to share a celebratory post with you readers! 3 years ago today I put on the most perfect dress on a gorgeous summer day and married the most amazing man in front of all our family and friends. It's hard to believe that we've been together over 5 years much less married for 3 of them! Marriage has been so unbelievably challenging and rewarding all at the same time [is that possible you ask? yes, I assure you it is] I'm thankful to have him in my life and as my husband. Billy and I couldn't be any more opposite if we tried but it's made us grow both independently and as a couple. Plus I basically owe my thrifty shopping obsessions to find deals to him!
