What the heck do you wear when you see that the calendar is saying October but outside it feels like summer! Well I've waited way too long for fall my friends. So I'm wearing my sweaters any way I can get them!
Truth be told, I love a good sweater and cutoff shorts combo. Can't go wrong with it! Hope you guys are enjoying your October so far! xoxo
For me, there's nothing better than a great cutoffs outfit and now that spring has finally arrived, it's time to break them out again! I love dressing mine up or down depending on the mood I'm in. Bill and I spent our Good Friday shopping up a storm and I just had to show off this fabulous lace blouse from The Mint Julep Boutique. Talk about the perfect pairing!

Even though we were spending a casual day running errands, this blouse upped the ante on my denim shorts and pulled everything together. My favorite part about it? The Bell Sleeves. I got a total 60's/70's vibe when it arrived at my house, no doubt influenced by "The Doors" concert I was watching on VH1 Classic. A great metallic flat and my new leather satchel were the icing on the cake. Never underestimate a good pair of flats - this heel lover can't get enough!
Make sure you head over to The Mint Julep Boutique for some FABULOUS finds - and they're incredibly budget friendly. I love looking over their new arrivals section and adding many of those new styles to my wishlist!
I've got to be honest - I've been really nervous about trying the high-waisted denim trend. I wasn't sure if I'd actually like it. But when Missguided asked me to collaborate, I knew I wanted to take a chance and try them out. So these daisy print distressed cutoffs showed up. Turns out I LOVE them! Here's just one of the many ways I've been wearing them...

What do you guys think? Are you into high waisted denim at all or have tried it? I think with the right top and shoes, it can be REALLY cute. I also recently wore them to a concert last week with a flowy crop-ish top. SO cute!
Pssssst, this pair is on MAJOR sale right now too. Just note that they run about 1 size too small. Also my sandals are HALF off and come in 3 colors. I just ordered the black because I've just about worn the luggage color practically every day this summer.
You guys... this heat is cray-cray! I feel like we jumped pretty much from winter into summer and skipped right over spring. Thank goodness for cutoffs and mesh tees to keep me cool!
I seriously can't get enough white. White Sunglasses. White Shoes. White Jewelry. All white everything please! But can we discuss how amazing these Yosi Samra flats are? I've a neon t-strap pair for a few years but this was my first pair of regular flats. And let me tell you... I don't want to take them off my feet! They're SO comfy! The best part is sipping them on to walk home in after a long day of heels at the office. But they totally work as a wear-all-day-comfy shoe too.
Hope you guys had a WONDERFUL weekend. Let's make this Monday a fabulous one!
A few weeks ago, I got to host The Impeccable Pig Raleigh's birthday party. I've said it once, I'll say it again - this store is beyond fantastic. Not only do they have the cutest styles that are right on trend, but their prices.... right up a normal gal like me's alley! Usually, I find the brightest, most neon item in the store. But this time, I reached for a complete black and white ensemble that felt incredibly chic.
First a big thank you to everyone who came out to the birthday party! It was so much fun to meet all of you!
After I picked out these two separate pieces, the girls at TIP said they wouldn't have thought to put them together, but that they loved it!. And that's why I love what I do. My mind tends to gravitate towards putting together outfits that are unexpected. You might not have ever thought would certain things would work, but when you try it on and wear it with confidence, they totally do. Even though my outfit is black and white, that's not how I tend to think about fashion or getting dressed. I always say it should be fun and experimental - take a risk!
I'm excited because I've got these pieces coming up in a few future posts so I can show how I would style them separately. Can't wait to share! Happy Wednesday everyone!
