Kate Middleton's Travel Style Secrets

Kate Middleton (aka Catherine Duchess of Cambridge) and Prince William (Duke of Cambridge) arrive at the BAFTAs

Kate Middleton stunned the world with her fashion choices during their 11 day North American tour a few weeks ago. She wore fabulous designers (of course) and always looked impeccably styled even on their most casual day at a lake. And while I was in awe of her beauty just like every one else, I noticed that the princess is quite a smart packer! She knows that one of the keys to traveling is rotating accessories and picking pieces that can work for all your ensembles. Let's take a peak shall we?

Kate stepped off the plane in Ottawa wearing Montreal designer Erdem Moralioglu. The navy and white lace dress looks fantastic and she added her favorite L.K. Bennett nude pumps and a nude envelope clutch. These accessories in neutral colors are fabulous because they can be paired with almost anything. Next up Kate chose another Erdem Moralioglu design to wear during a prayer service in Montreal. Even though the first dress has a busy print, the second dress is more minimal in a gorgeous deep blue color. Yet it is still complimented by the simple shoes and bag!

For her next few appearances, Kate kept her look monochromatic allowing us to focus on her gorgeous self! During a parade in Yellowknife, Canada she wore a Malene Birger dress with a beautiful green sash belt that went perfectly with those trusty nude pumps and envelope clutch! Next up in Quebec City the duchess wore a Joseph tan dress and L.K. Bennett pumps but switched up the handbag. This L.K. Bennett clutch (the Natalie) has a little sparkle which adds glam to either a daytime or evening look (we all know how much I love sparkle during the day!)

More daytime sparkle! On the left a gorgeous yellow Jenny Packham dress. On the right she arrived in LA wearing a lovely lavender Roksanda Ilincic dress and Jimmy Choo Pumps in the style "Lovely".

The Duchess also knows it's smart to keep jewelry to a minimal when traveling. She was always spotted wearing her gorgeous rings and a small bracelet encompassing her right wrist. But Kate also put a loaned broach from the Queen herself to good use. Sporting it on 3 different dresses during Canada's celebrations, the silver maple leaf definitely came in handy as a show stopping piece. Though she used a few different pairs of shoes I think the nude pumps and clutch could have gone perfectly with the other dresses (the black clutch was last seen here with Mrs. Obama) Guess a princess can check an extra bag at no charge! ;) But her purple Issa dress is the exact same silhouette as her famed Engagement Announcement dress and the white/cream Reiss dress was also seen in the Royal Engagement photos! I always love a gal who can Style Recycle!

Kate also double dosed on her amazing J Brand skinny jeans for a more casual look than the pretty frocks she was sporting earlier. In the first look she still preps it up with a ruffle blouse and navy blazer. She also wears a cute pair of black espadrille wedges. In the second look she paired the skinny jeans with two-toned boat shoes and a long sleeve safari shirt. Kate also proved those espadrille wedges can be used for party shoes while adding them to a bird-printed wrap dress for a barbecue:

I hope this has given you some ideas for your next traveling adventure! Stay tuned for another piece I'm doing on style travel that a reader requested! Happy Monday everyone!

  2. She is just so lovely. I totally appreciate that she re-wears stuff, re-uses her handbags, appreciates minimalism but is not afraid to pull out all the stops and glam it up when she needs to. I'm obsessed.
