Pantone Color of the Year 2013: Emerald!

Have you guys heard the news? Pantone has announced 2013's color and it's Emerald! A gorgeous and lovely choice if I do say so myself.  Pantone's experts are calling it a "lively, radiant, lush green" which sounds fabulous. I was actually inspired by this color last year, so I'm thrilled that it's showing up again for the next year.

Pantone believes Emerald will be a major trend for both Fashion & Beauty saying that it's "classic elegance makes for striking and irresistible women’s formal and everyday wear as well as accessories" We'll probably be seeing a lot of green eye makeup as well since it's a "perfect complement to peaches, pinks, roses, ruby reds and aubergines – offering a variety of lipstick and blush options." Oh and stay tuned since Pantone + Sephora are planning "Beauty Of The Year" collaboration featuring this gorgeous jewel tone!

How To Wear Sparkly Shoes - Part II

This is the second outfit in my "How To Wear" series featuring these glitter pumps. They're so cute, right?

 

The first look I posted was to prove you can wear sparkles in a casual way. But, I wanted to dress them up for our second installment. I want to keep my shoes the main focus so it was the perfect excuse to bust out my new favorite dress. It's solid colored and has small details like a sweet peplum hem and cap sleeves. This whole outfit offers a feminine vibe without being over the top girly. My nude clutch and rhinestone bracelet help tie everything together!

 

If you're a bit nervous about sparkly shoes, just remember: you don't have to "over style." Keep it simple, wear a smile & you'll look amazing - no matter what! It seems crazy to post this outfit the day before December 1st, but I guess that's what happens when you live in LA & get a heat wave the week before Thanksgiving. Before our Washington trip, Bill and I went for a little Pre-Christmas shopping. My neon blazer came in handy when the sun ventured behind the clouds and the high 70's temps cooled off slightly. Plus these booties were surprisingly SO comfy as we strolled around the promenade for several hours.

 

Do you guys have a hard time buying gifts for guys? I'm the WORST. Bill has a birthday 10 days before Christmas and I never know what to get him. It doesn't help that he never really "wants" anything either... At this point, I'm totally open to suggestions - so please! Send them along.. I need all the help I can get! xoxo
