Gone Palm Springsing

We're off to spend Labor Day at our home away from home, Palm Springs! I've been feverishly packing, shopping and prepping for my trip to NYC. Okay, it's all I've been thinking talking about for the past 3 weeks. So this weekend will serve as a much needed break before I jump feet first into conferences, meetings, dinners, shows, etc..!

I wanted to share a few photos of the place we always stay during our PS excursions. Dana and Steve's home was showcased in an issue of California Home Design magazine not too long ago. They have amazing taste in everything (decor, clothes, food - you name it) and yes, it's always this clean. I'm so grateful that they always greet us with open arms & margaritas. Now you see why we can't get enough of the desert? Hope you have a GREAT 3 day weekend!!

I just love The Desert. There's something about it that brings you an instant peace and calm as soon as you pull into the drive. The air is sweeter, the food tastes better, the people are nicer. It's such a special retreat from the busy bodies in Los Angeles. It's an added bonus that we have the greatest hosts in the world in Dana & Steve. This last trip I swear I gained 5 pounds from all the fun we had (not joking)

I scored these Zara floral trousers online back in March. I figured a contrasting "dry" backdrop was the perfect place to break them out. They're quite a bit different from the cropped H&M ones seen here but still lovely. Plus these bright pink pumps bring out the baby pink found in pants.

I've mentioned our lovely trips to Palm Springs many times here on BAD. Dana & Steve always open up their home to us when we need to get out of LA for a few days and we're beyond grateful for it! From the pool to the landscaping to the decor, it's one of the most gorgeous spreads I've ever seen - their taste really is impeccable. I thought it would be the perfect backdrop to show off my favorite new dress. So happy I scored this hot pink number - it's super fun and so incredibly me! Continuing my my love affair with candy colors, I chose a contrasting blue crystal bib necklace to pair with my bright frock. Aside from the bold neck piece, I chose basic and neutral accessories. The great thing about Sole Society's Jenny sandals is that I can dress them up with a fun party dress or just throw them on with jeans and tee for a bit of casual glamour. This look has me so excited for spring! Now if the SoCal weather would just cooperate.... Happy Tuesday everyone!
