Giveaway & Review [Diamond Candles Candle]

When I moved to Raleigh, I made a promise that I would try to get more involved with local companies and brands. I'm really excited to bring you today's giveaway because they're located right here in Durham North Carolina!

Diamond Candles has a fabulous concept where you get a deliciously smelling candle accompanied with a surprise! Every candle has a uniquely designed ring inside that's worth anywhere from $10, $100, $1000 or $5,000! I mean just the idea of discovering a present inside makes me giddy with excitement. But the fact is, the candles themselves are amazing quality. They are made from 100% soy wax, eco-friendly and incredibly fragrant. I actually waited until the Pumpkin Chai came back into stock because it sold out so quickly the first go 'round. Next on my wish list is anything from their winter collection (hello Mistletoe and Gingerbread Latte)

Diamond Candles was born after the owner David bought his wife Brenda a diamond ring for their anniversary. After rushing to the grocery store to purchase a gift bag and having no such luck, he saw a candle and knew it would be a perfect presentation for their anniversary. And Ta-Da! Diamond Candles was invented. How cute is that?

So let's get to the good stuff... my ring reveal and your chance to win your own!

It probably took me about 1 week (maybe 15 hours or so?) to burn down to my ring. I always have a candle lit in our home so it might take someone else a bit longer to reach their ring. I didn't want to make a mess in the wax so I patiently waited, fished my foil wrapped ring out and prepared to unwrap it!

Although my ring wasn't an actual diamond, it was still super fun to unwrap and find a surprise! Plus it doesn't hurt that there was a pink stone in the middle ;) And I've still got a whole lotta scrumptious candle left to burn.

Now for the exciting part! Enter below for your chance to win your very own Diamond Candle - a scent of your choice! Good Luck!

Outfit Post: A Little Monday Sparkle

J. Crew Neon Cluster Sequin Tee (similar option here)
Express Boyfriend Denim (old version - cute pair from Fossil here)
Studded Heels via eBay || Liz Claiborne Satchel (sooo old - love this Sole Society version) || Vintage Sunnies

I don't know about you.. but I need a little something, something to brighten up a Monday morning. Starbucks coffee [in a red holiday cup] or a good episode of "Real Housewives" can usually do the trick. But more often then not, I turn to my favorite all-time pick me up: Sequins.

Sometimes a gal just needs a high pony, a high heel and a good sequin. Show me one person who doesn't believe that a little sparkle is good for the soul? I've been into my boyfriend jeans for a long time, but this might have been one of my favorite ways to wear them.

Yesterday I had an amazing brunch and finally got to meet some local NC bloggers. It's something I've been wanting to do since moving to Raleigh so I'm happy that it finally happened. Stay tuned for a little re-cap and, of course, what I wore. ;)

Happy Monday! xoxo

Game Day Outfit: Baseball Cap Glam

Today's post is a combination of 2 of my favorite things: A blogger collaboration and a game day outfit. I met Danielle last year at LuckyFABB/NYFW and we've been buds ever since. I love Danielle because she's witty, gorgeous, loves sports and so down to earth. Her posts are full of fun, fashion and humor. Plus she & I shared a love for PLL. So when she contacted me about a possible collaboration, she came up with the brilliant idea of a Game Day post showdown. You see, 1 flaw of hers (haha) is that she's a Miami Hurricanes fan, one of Florida State's biggest rivals. We play each other this weekend and it's a MAJOR game. We're both ranked in the top 10 and to say I'm stoked about it would a major understatement.

Danielle also challenged me to tackle The Baseball Cap trend, one that I've, frankly, been nervous to test out. So after you check out my outfit make sure you hop on over to Lou What Wear and check her look out (ummm she nailed it!)

State Traditions Florida State Tallahassee Baseball Cap c/o
Zara Metallic Peplum Cardigan (old but exact option here in black at L.Mae Boutique)
Express "Stella" Skinny Jegging (old)
Aaron Ashe White Silk Tank
Studded Heels via eBay || GiGi New York Uber Clutch in Saddle Pebble || ILY Couture sideways cross necklace & arrow ring || J. Crew Classic Bangles || Michael Kors Watch

Now this whole baseball cap thing is a major step out of my comfort zone. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sports-watching, beer-drinking, could even play video games kind of gal. But I love my sparkle... and my high heels.

I really wanted to have fun with this challenge and took some pointers from the gorgeous Samantha Ponder and fabulous bloggers like Cathy [Poor Little It Girl] & Christine [Hello Fashion Blog]. I stayed true to my style keeping my sky high heels and sparkly sweater in tow. To be honest, the hat gave my glam game day getup just the right amount of tomboy swag. I added on my fav GiGi uber clutch and some gold jewelry for girly flair.

It actually wasn't that hard since the State Traditions hats are really fabulous. It's a really simple design of the State's shape in your school's colors but it's an easy and stylish way to give your look that menswear punch. Plus.. they have about a bazillion options! You should also check out the cute selections for your guy like Game Day bow ties or Gingham plaid shirts.

Don't forget to check out Danielle's outfit... and Go Noles!!!
