Some weekends you just want to put on some overalls and flats, sip a cocktail and pretend like summer will never be over. I know I talk a lot about how much I can't wait for fall to arrive, but it's days when I get to wear outfits like this, that I appreciate the summer heat so much.

I've debated the overall trend and when I finally decided I wanted to try it, I couldn't find any styles that worked for me! Enter in distressed shorts - duh! Because they're frayed and somewhat loosened, the hems didn't feel tight on my thighs like other overall options have. I also love the straight bib style which alleviates the top heavy bulkiness I had experienced with pockets. Now I feel like I #CantStopWontStop wearing these bad boys. Mine are sold out but I found a fab pair from Nordstrom Rack!

Side note: how freaking cute is my charm bar necklace from Moon and Lola? I put it together while at #TBScon a few weeks ago. I love how each charm (I chose a pendant with my lower case initial, a mini pink tassel, rhinestone ball and my zodiac sign) represents me in a fun small way. It's a perfect way to show off your personality and pick exactly what you want. Holla!

I'm back and yes, I'm wearing a sweater. So sue me. The weather here in NC is so crazy (70 degrees one day, 38 the next) So while, spring is supposedly on its way, you'll be seeing a few sweaters here and there over the next few weeks. The truth is, I'm a sweater lover, even in the early spring days. Grab a pair of shorts and a cute pair of flats and you've got a fabulous transition outfit.

I took myself on a date last month and wore this. Sometimes a girl just needs a comfy sweater and a great pair of boots for dinner and a movie. Have you taken yourself on a date lately? If there's one thing I love about my wardrobe it's that I try to make it as versatile as possible. As a glitter/sequin/bedazzled lover, I refuse to reserve my sparkling clothing for nighttime. Sure wearing a sequin pencil skirt is easy to throw on for a night out, but how about during the day at the office? Luckily I've worked in not-so-strictly-business-casual office environments so I'm able to really experiment with outfits. 

By pairing it with a comfy (and neon) tee I've totally make this glittering garment just right for daytime. Keep it easy with neutral accessories and easy layers of gold jewelry - you don't need a ton of additives since the skirt has so much personality. But one thing you can accessorize with every office outfit? Coffee!

This sequin clutch from DaisyGem gets so much air-time from my wardrobe it isn't even funny! I wear it out with fancy looks (à la here and here) and with more casual ones like this date night outfit. It originally just came in gold but they recently added pink AND black too! I just might have to add pink to my collection as well.. After all, it does combine my two favorite things in the world, pink & sparkles! I wish this Zara blouse was still available online.. I finally found my perfect white shirt and I can't even share it with you guys.. boo!!!

 

We're almost fully moved into our house and spent our first night there last night. It feels so weird to say "I own a home" I feel like such a grown up! Though we won't have TV or Internet for several days... I told Bill I don't know what the heck I'm going to do without either. Now I don't sound like such a grown up.. sad but true!!
