Valentine's Day is almost here and it's time to celebrate! I have to be honest - I'm not normally a tight clothing wearing kind of gal. But when I saw this faux suede wine colored mini dress, I instantly got 90's nostalgia and wanted to rock it like the girl of Beverly Hills 90210. (Psssst it also comes in black!) Which is why I am also grateful for the 3/4 length sleeves. For me, when wearing something more body-conscious, it's important to keep things low key. Neutral accessories (this clutch is my serious go to) along with minimal jewelry keeps everything put together, sexy and not too over the top. 

Speaking of simple, I'm loving these block heels from Boohoo! I think every gal should have several types of nude colored shoes in her closet and the thick heel on these sandals make them oh-so-comfy. Plus I'm digging the glittering of gold from the heel.

When I posted this look on instagram, I called it 50 shades of a Snowflake, so I'm sticking with that. i loved the different shades of blue/silver together. Kind of monochromatic. 

When dressing up for date night during the week, it can be hard depending on how dressy or nice you want to look. I say, throw on a sweater, dark pair of jeans, a fun pair of shoes and one bold accessory. In this case, it's my metallic belt bag - which is also 50% off TODAY ONLY. You guys... My search for the perfect distressed skinny jean is OVER. I've been looking for months (a year really) for the perfect pair of skinny jeans, that were lightly distressed (apparently some designers go crazy with a blade) and still wearable for date night (a.k.a. a nice dark rinse)

I scored these destroyed beauties from non other than... American Eagle! Yes, I know! I was just as surprised as you were. I had pretty much exhausted all my options (within a reasonable budget that is) and I popped into their store just to "see what they had".  I had no idea they had really stepped up their denim game! Right now they've got every style, shape, color. Really anything you could want. I was so impressed I bought these grey skinny jeggings (wearing them today) as well as these destroyed light wash skinny jeans.

Date night is one of my favorite nights, but it's doubly exciting when we do a Double Date night. I threw on my new jeans, my favorite white blouse and some printed pumps. All I needed after that was a gold necklace and sequin clutch to finish it off. In my head, this is the dressed up date night version of "Jeans & a Tee". Not too fancy... Not too casual.  Super comfy, yet you still look very put together.

We're almost to the end of the week everyone! I can't WAIT for this week to be O-V-E-R! It just means I'm one step closer to my #BADinNOLA trip happening next weekend! One of my best friends and roommates from college is getting married in August and all the gals are heading to Louisiana for 4 days to celebrate the bride to be!

You bet these uh-mazing Sole Society sandals are coming with me. I love the color (like a light Radiant Orchid) and thought they'd be perfect with this Vintage dress for a night out. I've actually been able to wear these shoes with denim shorts, dresses and pants too! Talk about versatility. Oh and guess what - they also come in 2 other colors, gray and nude. This sequin clutch from DaisyGem gets so much air-time from my wardrobe it isn't even funny! I wear it out with fancy looks (à la here and here) and with more casual ones like this date night outfit. It originally just came in gold but they recently added pink AND black too! I just might have to add pink to my collection as well.. After all, it does combine my two favorite things in the world, pink & sparkles! I wish this Zara blouse was still available online.. I finally found my perfect white shirt and I can't even share it with you guys.. boo!!!

 

We're almost fully moved into our house and spent our first night there last night. It feels so weird to say "I own a home" I feel like such a grown up! Though we won't have TV or Internet for several days... I told Bill I don't know what the heck I'm going to do without either. Now I don't sound like such a grown up.. sad but true!! Can you believe we're already almost 1/2 way through August? I can't. Time is just flying by the older we get and I'm not liking it! Speaking of getting older - I celebrated my birthday last week. Why aren't birthdays as fun as they were when you were 7 or 10.. or 21? Maybe I should try having a "Purple Party" like I did when I was 8 to inject a little bday spunk into my life...

 

How fun are these butterfly print shorts? When I spotted them on my latest instagram crush, Maggie, I just had to have them. I scored them majorly on sale (they're still available so you can too!) and just couldn't wait to wear them for dinner at Mura, my favorite sushi restaurant in Raleigh. They're part whimsical part girly which is totally up my alley. I also couldn't resist pulling out my favorite pink glitter pumps, a Christmas gift from Billy several years ago. What better way to celebrate a birthday than with Pink Glitter?

When I spotted this dress on The Impeccable Pig's instagram last week, I knew I was going to fall in love with it. I mean, what's not to like? It's neon, printed, has a skater skirt and is such a flattering cut. So when I popped by last Friday during a shopping day with my mom, my feelings were confirmed - it's amazing! And when I asked you guys on instagram - you thought so too! So my wonderful mama scooped it up as an early birthday present for me. I'm so thankful that IP has fabulous budget friendly prices.. otherwise I'd be in MAJOR trouble.

 

You know that feeling when you can't freaking wait to wear something? Yeah.. you know what I'm talking about! That's how I felt about this piece. So a mid-week date night with Bill was the perfect excuse to bust it out (never mind that he was in casual chords & rainbow flip flops) I let the print speak for itself choosing neutral booties, metallic accessories and messy boho waves. It really makes the print pop don't you think? By the way - I'm still on the hunt for a new curling wand - won't you give me your 2 cents here so I can make a decision already?!
