SBS NC Meet Up Recap: Kendra Scott Durham

A few weeks ago, Emily & I got to host the Southern Blog Society's NC spring meet up. (You can join here) I've said before, I'll say it again. These ladies are ah-mazing. Even though we don't get together as often as I wish, they are so much fun to be around. I'm so lucky that a few of them have turned into #IRL friends!

The Kendra Scott store in Durham at Streets of Southpoint was so kind and gracious to host us. Logan created a fabulous night for us blogging gals that was complete with a first-peek at the new Via Maya Kendra Scott collection, the best cake pops I've ever tasted, dangerous delicious sangria (I may or may not have had 3.. okay 4 glasses) and some photo booth fun. New Obsession: dress Raleigh Resale Boutique

After we made the move to Raleigh, I have to admit I was kind of nervous about shopping. I know that sounds silly and I don't mean to sound snobbish, but there were so many cute boutiques in LA that I frequented. I knew I'd be able to find items that were unique, different and pieces that not everyone would have.

Well, I've been pleasantly surprised by several stores here in Raleigh. One of them being dress, an upscale resale boutique. And ladies, let me just tell you... the owner, Pam Mullaney, has some of the best taste I've ever seen. dress is a fabulous concept - born from both Pam's love for fashion, and a desire to give women the option of dressing not only well, but at an affordable price point. Something I think we can all appreciate, am I right? In other words, it's the perfect mix of new and like-new. You can even buy straight from her social media pages. Yes, really! New merchandise

Initially starting out on eBay, Pam's business has now evolved to a gorgeous space on Wade Avenue in Ridgewood Shopping Center (I mean check out those lights!) The front section of the store consists of new merchandise. Items that are on trend, unique and at super budget friendly prices.

The rest of the store is pre-owned designer clothing. And let me just tell you... Pam knows what she's doing. She doesn't just buy anything that comes through her door. She's crafted an amazing inventory, which to be honest, doesn't stay on the racks too long before it gets snatched up. Her everyday brands include J.Crew, DVF, Zara, Calypso St. Barts, Tory Burch, Rag & Bone, Tibi, Missoni, Vince... the list goes on! Recap: Macy's Spring Essentials Fashion Show

 

Last month was a majorly exciting one for not only my blog but for me! I was asked to co-host a fashion show at Macy's to showcase their new Impulse shopping section! I had such a blast with Sharon Delaney (who by the way was a HUGE inspiration to me growing up) as we got to chat about spring trends, what's back in style and how every day women like you and me can rock these looks and stay on budget! Suzanne Libfraind from Wardrobe Consulting did a fabulous job styling the models while a few students from the local Art Institute assisted her and the models.

 

It was seriously one of the most fun events I've ever done and reminded me of how much I missed being in front of a camera and a crowd. Scroll through to see a few photos from the event and what I wore. A HUGE thanks to Macy's for asking me to be part of this fabulous event!

Macy's Spring Essentials Fashion Show

Attention Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill Ladies - I'm co-hosting an event this coming Saturday and I would love for you to come!

 

 

Since today is the actual first day of spring I thought it would be fun to tell you about the Spring Fashion Show I'm live hosting. It's going to be at the Crabtree Valley Mall Macy's Location starting at 2 PM.

 

Sharon Delaney & I will be sharing the hottest trends for Spring through a few of Macy's favorite brands. There will be refreshments, a DJ & a photo booth (who doesn't love a photo booth) The first 25 customers to RSVP & Check in receive a free gift!

Belk's Fashion Forward 2014

When I first moved back to North Carolina I was concerned that I would never have any fashion events to attend.. and [thankfully] was I SO wrong! I'm really excited to share with you about this upcoming event The Junior League of Raleigh is hosting!

If you're in the Raleigh area, plan to be at Belk's Crabtree Valley Mall location on Sunday March 9th from 5 - 10 PM. There will be a fashion show around 7 PM with VIP shopping starting at 5 PM. And of course, there will be an exclusive discount off your purchase when you attend, food & drinks, Belk Gift cards and more! Plus designer Trina Turk will be there to talk about her new spring line and you won't want to miss the opportunity to meet her!

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the Junior League's website. I'll be there getting my shopping on, enjoying some fashion and meeting you! I really hope to see you there!

The Pink Effect 5th Anniversay Event

 

I'm REALLY excited to tell you about a fabulous and event that is happening here in Raleigh, NC in 3 weeks. The Pink Effect, an organization dedicated to raising money for Breast Cancer research is having their 5th anniversary fundraiser on September 28th, 2013. This is a major kickoff to breast cancer awareness and this year they've decided to mix things up a bit by putting on a fashion show at Big Boss Brewery!

 

Check out this impressive lineup of local boutiques - Apricot Lane, Vestique, Scout & Molly's, Uniquities, High Line Boutique, The Art of Style and JousJous. In addition to the fashion show, there will be a DJ, raffle for prizes, games and a photo booth!

 

Tickets are on sale now and VIP tickets are $50. They include 3 drink tickets (yes, please!), heavy hors d'ouvres (catered by Whole Foods!) & a fabulous commemorative tote bag. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the fashion show beginning at 8:30 p.m.

 

I'm really excited about this event especially since all proceeds are going to be benefitting the wonderful Earlier.Org - which is the only national organization solely devoted to earlier breast cancer detections/tests. We'd really love to make this event a success and try to meet our goal of raising $10,000 for Earlier.Org. It's the perfect excuse to get a bunch of girlfriends together and make a Girl's Night Out of it!  I'll be there and would love to meet and mingle with you!
