Outfit Post: Fancy Boyfriend Jeans

Damn I love a good pair of boyfriend jeans. They're like sweatpants on the inside, but you still look nice enough on the outside to be out in public (or eat lots of Mexican food like I did!) 

I think I like wearing my sweatpants boyfriend jeans fancy, because then I feel like I'm fooling everyone. Like "Yes, this may look like a really cute outfit, but I'm really just here wearing these because they're comfy as hell" Okay, and they're really cute!

I'm SO happy that I'm finally able to wear all of the items I picked up from Carolina Premium Outlets! Sometimes outlet shopping is just where it's at! You can find some real gems at amazing prices. For example, I scored tons of sweaters in August that were already at fabulous prices, plus even more on sale with the Better Than Tax Free discount! The best about CPO? They're only a 35 minute drive from my house. Woo hoo!

Outfit Post: A Little Monday Sparkle

I don't know about you.. but I need a little something, something to brighten up a Monday morning. Starbucks coffee [in a red holiday cup] or a good episode of "Real Housewives" can usually do the trick. But more often then not, I turn to my favorite all-time pick me up: Sequins.

 

Sometimes a gal just needs a high pony, a high heel and a good sequin. Show me one person who doesn't believe that a little sparkle is good for the soul? I've been into my boyfriend jeans for a long time, but this might have been one of my favorite ways to wear them.

 

Yesterday I had an amazing brunch and finally got to meet some local NC bloggers. It's something I've been wanting to do since moving to Raleigh so I'm happy that it finally happened. Stay tuned for a little re-cap and, of course, what I wore. ;)

Okay.. this may be one of my favorite outfits. Ever. Yes, it includes the shoes that I went to extreme measures to find, but that's not the only reason :) It's the epitome of my best kept non-secret for putting an ensemble together. The perfect combination of 2 styles - casual and glam.

 

I'm not sure about you, but boyfriend denim is in a constant rotation in my wardrobe. And if you haven't tried it yet don't just dip your toes in. Dive in, head first, with at least 2 sets (dark wash and light rinse) This pair is usually my "casual" option since it's so light. Normally I'm sporting flats or loafers when I wear them. But something about these Prabal Gurung for Target sandals and my GiGi New York clutch just made me want to dress them up for a church day. Kept my "next-day" hair super messy (my favorite way to wear it) and topped it off with a sparkling sweater.

 

I really want to challenge you to try dressing down or dressing up one of your favorite pieces. It's so fun to play around with what you've got and discover a new way to wear something!
