Holiday Party Style: Gwyneth Paltrow's Glitter Pant Suit

 

Will my girl crush on Gwyneth ever subside? I know, I know, she gets a lot of flak for that whole pretentious "I'm-Better-Than-You" attitude - but I really don't care. Her hair, her body, her style, even her cooking... I've got a full blown obsession with her, so pretentiousness be damned!

 

Gwynnie (oh yeah we're on a nickname basis) showed up last week at an opening of a Boss Nuit store in Dubai, donning what I think is the PERFECT holiday outfit. Don't get me wrong, I still love my sparkly dresses! But this is just so fresh and unexpected. I ADORE it. A matching glitter brocade pantsuit? I mean who woulda thunk it? Plus that reddish-pink sandal is so festive and fun! L-O-V-E

 

I've been searching high and low for a look for less {actually no one even knows who makes this suit} but have come up empty handed. You better believe when I find it I'll be sharing it with you loves ASAP!

Golden Goddess Alert!! Kate Hudson was positively glowing while attending the premiere of her movie The Reluctant Fundamentalist during the opening ceremony for the Venice Film Festival. Glittering in a gilded gold gown designed by Atelier Versace, the actress knocked it way out of the park. The unique neckline is super modern while the sheer peek-a-boo panels add a playful touch. I love that she chose something so incredibly elegant while staying true to her edgy style. Complete showstopper.

 

Kate continued her love affair with metallic tones by accessorizing with a gold Edie Parker clutch and champagne Versace heels. Pure perfection. Plus, her makeup is straight up flawless and the back of the dress... well I'll just let that speak for itself.

I'm in total adoration of Chloë Moretz. She manages to keep her style age appropriate with the perfect combination of sophistication and playfulness.

Chloë showed up as the guest of honor for the Max Mara "Face of the Future" event looking fresh and fabulous. Her bright teal dress by the label fits her to a T - notice the panel details? I also can't help but swoon over the pop of neon from her nude pumps - so fun! Perfect hair, easy makeup, minimal accessories top off her look. What do you guys think? Do you like?

While searching for some celebrity inspiration, I spotted this stunning lady and her gorgeous dress. At first glance I thought it was model Amber Valleta, but upon closer inspection I saw this gorgeous blonde gal's name is Taylor Schilling. Tall, tan, beautiful - oh, and she's Zac Efron's co-star in the newest Nicholas Sparks' book-turned-movie, The Lucky One. A quick search on Wikipedia and IMDB proves that this movie will be her first major role. I'm putting it out there and predicting she's going to be the next "It" girl.

Sticking to the latest minimal trend, she shined in a body hugging Calvin Klein Collection gown with metallic trim. Adore, adore, adore this look! Sleek, clean and absolutely beautiful. Love the fresh faced makeup and easy updo. She polished off her look with a shining futuristic cuff and silver bag. Sometimes, simplicity really goes a long way. We're almost to the weekend! xoxo

Look Of The Day: Elizabeth Banks in Canary Yellow Bill Blass

It's official my friends! Canary Yellow is the new color of the season! I've been spotting it everywhere and trying to figure out how I can incorporate it into my own wardrobe. So imagine my delight when I came across a serious gush-worthy look that's pure inspiration for a glamorous yellow ensemble (did you ever think you'd hear those words?) Elizabeth Banks, who stars in the new Twilight Hunger Games series showed up to the London premiere looking like a ray of sunshine - literally. Her glittering canary Bill Blass column gown brought a shining burst of color to the movie premiere's red carpet. I'm sure all eyes were on her, this dress and all it's sequined glory. And the back... I mean, seriously! You know how much I obsess over a good open back dress! So lovely. I wish I had that dress hanging in my tiny closet or better yet on my body right now! Additionally, I adore the quirky yellow Judith Leiber clutch she chose to pair it with. A soft tousled updo and some sparkling Irene Neuwirth earrings top it all off. E Banks - you are PERFECTION! Happy Friday my loves!!

I don't normally feature Ange on here too often - mostly because I feel she always wears the same black dress over and over again. I do love the idea of taking something and making it your own, but since we're seeing her in the same type of look all the time, I always appreciate when she steps out of the box. So when Angelina showed up to the Berlin Film Festival, my jaw literally dropped when I saw what she was wearing. A gorgeous glittering gunmetal and champagne beaded Jenny Packham gown. I mean, how stunning does she look?? The cut is super feminine yet those silver beads lend the star that hint of signature edge. Long sleeve gowns are having a major moment on the red carpet lately and I'm totally in love. This particular one has a V-neck that shows just the right amount of skin. And because her features are so prominent, I love when she wears her hair loose and down - makes her look a little less... well "frigid" is the term we'll use. Gorgeous cat eye makeup and peach lips round out this total package. I think she looks ridiculously amazing and such a breath of fresh air from her usually black-on-black choices. What do you guys think? Are you loving this different side of Ange as much as I am??

Everyone can't stop talking about the new American remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Personally, I can't stop admiring Rooney Mara's fashion statements. She's really impressed me by pulling out all the stops for her latest red carpet apperances. So far she's donned Prabal Gurung for NYC and Givenchy for London. But yesterday's Paris premiere was my favorite choice yet. Rooney paired a shimmering jet black mini from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 line with strappy black sandals and bright red lips. The silouhette of the frock is perfect and I adore the mesh overlay with beaded details. Also with her new black hair and baby bangs, Rooney is a total modern day Audrey Hepburn. The always gorgeous Freida Pinto wore a lovely berry colored pleated gown from Salvatore Ferragamo during the Tribeca Film Festival last week. The Grecian inspired look, including a soft updo, absolutely knocked it out of the park for me. I LOVE the tassel belt and all her gold-toned accessories. All in all, it's a completely stunning ensemble.

As we delve further into the winter months, I've decide to keep my brights going as long as possible. It doesn't get extremely cold here in LA but you can further you're bold options by pairing them with basics like black tights and long sleeve tees. You could even trade out the typical black dress and go for a long gown in a jewel tone [like the above] as a fabulous option for your Holiday parties or formal New Year's Ball. Today's LOTD is from a few weeks ago, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I saw it. Olivia Palermo's styling is absolute ridiculousness. I don't think the girl has ever NOT worn an amazing outfit (If she has I want proof!) And even though I was quite underwhelmed and less than impressed with her guest judging on last week's Project Runway episode (seriously... what a snooze!) I'll let her slide because of this fabulous outfit. The former The City star showed up to Mulberry's Spring 2012 presentation wearing a top, heels and clutch from the line. It's so feminine and incredibly stylish. I love the proportions of the metallic top and slim pants, reminding me that I must find black skinny jeans as soon as possible. Do you guys have any recommendations on where to get some? Plus I need those bow front pumps. So adorable and could totally be achieved with DIY shoe clips.

Look Of The Day: Jaime King in Valentino

Ohhh. Emmm. GORGEOUSNESS. This was my exact reaction upon seeing Jaime King in this stunning Valentino gown. The actress, who co-hosted a benefit at the Soho House in West Hollywood for the celebrity charity Stand Up To Cancer last week, absolutely shined in her floor length stunner. I thought this dress might potentially be vintage but after searching, much to my surprise, it's from the Fall 2011 Ready To Wear collection. It was styled quite differently for the runway show and I have to admit I think I like Jamie's choice better:

I think the deep V in the back is much more sexy and the higher neckline is much more flattering than the one strap going across. The chartreuse is such an unexpected twist which really gives it an antique look. With the gown having so much intricate detail, I really appreciate her minimalistic approach to the accessories and jewelry. Simple bun, light makeup and lovely jewelry. I'm wearing a similar style dress (floor length, open back, fun pattern but sleeveless) to a wedding in September and I'd like to emulate this whole look for the event. Including these gorgeous Bulgari diamond earrings.

Look Of The Day: Giuliana Rancic on Chelsea Lately

{Warning!: Ok this post is slightly embarrassing and it's only because I literally scoured the internet all day yesterday and was unable to find ANY photos. So I had to do a little improvisation!}

I'm totally obsessed with all things Guiliana and Bill Rancic. I think it started when I watched their wedding special on Style Network in 2007. I was already familiar with Guiliana {read about that here} from E! News but her and hubby were so cute as they prepared for their big day! Now I get ridiculously excited whenever a new season of Giuliana & Bill starts. So excited that I often watch the show in "real time" instead of DVR - so you know that means it's serious! Anyways the couple was on the Chelsea Lately show Wednesday night to promote the new episodes that started this week! And Giuliana is wearing my favorite Go-To outfit! Black blazer, cute top, dark skinnies and SPARKLY shoes (specifically Giuseppe Zanotti. Not sure the exact pair just yet..) This is probably one of my favorite ensemble combos ever. Here's why:

1: Almost every gal has these options in her closet

2: It's one of those outfits that will look great on everyone

3: Your shoes become the stand out piece/focus

Ladies if you need a date-night break from dresses, I vote for you to try this out next time. I guarantee that your guy will love it! Now you may not have glittery shoes per se (Me? I've got 3 pairs) but I'm sure you've got one funky pair of heels stashed in you collection somewhere. They might be bright neon colors or perhaps have a pattern or studs. Either way make sure they make a statement and add them with simple neutral pieces for a fabulous look. Another tip: try a dark wash jean in a skinny style if you don't have black ones. But just in case you might not have stepped over to the glitter-side, you could also make this an amazing DIY - super simple too! Just grab some plain shoes, craft glue and tons of glitter and you're set!

We've got dinner plans tonight and tomorrow with friends so I'm bound to throw this outfit on at least once this weekend. I'll try and snap some photos for you. In the mean time watch the video below for their appearance so you can see the glisten for yourself! Have a wonderful weekend loves!

Look Of The Day: Brooklyn Decker at 2011 ESPY Awards

The 2011 ESPY Awards were held in LA on Tuesday night. Hosted by SNL funny man Seth Meyers, the ceremony was filled with a lot of pokes at the current NFL/NBA Lockout situation complete with this hilarious video title Lockout Professionals. {In all seriousness I hope they pull that together - I need some NFL football in my life!} Meyers also jabbed at LeBron James and the Miami Heat causing a bit of uneasy and uncomfortable laughter amongst the athletes. But hey, it's all in good fun right?

One thing not uncomfortable at the awards was Brooklyn Decker. The model-turned-actress stunned in a short red leather Jay Ahr dress and spike Christian Louboutin gold heels (similar to the Loubs that Olivia Wilde wore to the Golden Globes this year) I love that the whole ensemble is slightly edgy but not over the top (spikes and leather could be a bad combo...) To be honest I haven't really like Brooklyn's shorter haircut until this red carpet appearance. It looks fab here though! Just a tad messy and slightly pulled up, away from her face. Fresh clean makeup and bangled wrists knock this look out of the park (ok I couldn't help myself) Here's a few close ups:

As the face of Vera Wang's "Lovestruck" fragrance, Leighton Meester proved  a combination of tough and edgy with pretty and sweet is an amazing mix. The Gossip Girl actress wore skintight leggings and a pleated girly blouse both by the designer while promoting the scent at Harrod's in London. It's a fabulous way to wear a leather piece without the look going into S&M or biker territory. By pairing it with a flowy neutral top it keeps everything fresh and fun. Her Brian Atwood platform sandals are just the icing on the cake. Love it!

Look Of The Day: Rachel Bilson in Chanel at 2011 CW UpFronts

It's only fitting to write about Rachel after yesterday's post!. She showed up to yesterday's CW UpFront's looking fabulous if I do say so myself. Minimalistic Chic at it's best! Her Chanel Couture dress stays on the LWD (Little White Dress) trend and she keeps everything easy-peasy with simple chain necklaces and a tanned glow. But I love adore her Brian Atwood Donna pumps - so adorable with a little ribbon bow on the back!

Look Of The Day: Rachel McAdams at Cannes 2011

Rachel McAdams promotes her new Woody Allen movie Midnight in Paris during the 64th Cannes Film Festival

Cannes Film Festival has begun! And the stars have already been showing off some amazing style. Actress Rachel McAdams was snapped wearing two lovely designs yesterday. First she wore a white Maxime Simoens Couture cocktail dress with nude Ferragamo pumps to the photo call for her new movie Midnight In Paris. Love the flowers seen at the pockets and lining the shoulders. It looks like she also lightened her locks to a buttery color and swiped on some hot pink lipsticks for a beauty change. Rachel's next dress is much more dramatic and stunning for the festival's opening ceremony celebration. Her nude and red lace Marchesa gown is beautiful! (Check out that train!) Paired with classic Casadei heels and Bulgari jewelry she channels a retro siren. I am seriously in love with whole look - she looks like classic Hollywood glamour - something that we haven't seen a lot of lately - or as Katie from Anything Lovely told me "It's the first WOW red carpet look in a long time". Look Of The Day: Naomi Watts in Stella McCartney Sandals

It's spring time! And you know what that means.... film festival red carpets! The Tribeca Film Festival is already underway and will be until May 1st and Cannes isn't far behind (May 11 - May 22) So far there's been several stars walking the carpets looking stunning but when I saw this photo this morning - I had to share! Naomi Watts attended Chanel's party for the festival wearing a lovely Chanel tweed dress and Stella McCartney yellow sandals. These are a favorite of hers as she wore them quite a bit last summer and yellow shoes were pretty popular in the early fall. I am obsessed with colored shoes and I love Naomi's combination! I think it must be the color from the tweed helps make those shoes a gorgeous shade of marigold rather than a bright yellow. Look Of The Day: Jennifer Hudson in Hot Pink Mini Skirt

Wowza! What a stunner! Jennifer Hudson has worked really hard at getting her body into shape after giving birth to her son David Jr. a year and half ago. The Weight Watchers spokeswoman has lost a total of 80 pounds since starting the program in April 2010. Now she's been seen flaunting her fab figure all over the place and wearing a series of amazing outfits. This definitely tops my number 1 fav so far. Jennifer paired her bright pink mini with a black corset and sky high jeweled heels. I also really like her accessory choices here and that sassy pink lipstick. She topped off her look with another obsession of mine - a messy side braid. I've always been in favor of Hot Pink. Which is why I'm sooooo glad one of the Spring and Summer trends is BRIGHT color! So far I've grabbed this lipstick for a Hot Pink selection (it's amazing - super creamy and super bright!), blogged about these fantastic Steve Madden heels and I've been on the hunt for an affordable option of this fab Jil Sander long skirt. But now it looks like I might have to add a mini skirt in this color to my collection as well! So far I haven't found any option to copy this look under $150 but as soon as I do I'll be sure to post it. For now I just wanted to share this amazing look with you! Happy Monday! xoxo
