Red Carpet Fashion: Met Gala 2012

The Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art {aka the Met Gala} promises to bring a night of stunning red carper looks. VIPs, actresses, models, designers, and more flood the red carpet in balls of tulle, layers of lace and shiny sequins making this star studded event one for the books. As one fashion's most prestigious nights, over the top glamour is a must. Here's the short and sweet version of my fav looks from 2012's Met Gala

Diane Kruger is flawless in this pleated and feathered purple Prada gown. The hippie chic jewelry, the hot pink Prada clutch, perfect and slightly messy tresses. I am swooning over this look. Amazeballs.

January Jones struck a major fashion forward vibe in this structured Versace lemon yellow gown. I so appreciate that since she wears so much vintage on Mad Men, she tries to step out of the box in real life and on the carpet. This futuristic shape is extremely flattering while the color and her Cartier turquoise necklace keep the vibe modern and current. Love!

Gold lamé is definitely not easy to pull off. But Jessica Alba wears her Michael Kors with grace and elegance. The key to keeping this fabric out of trashy territory is simplicity. Side swept curls and golden toned accessories make this look a definite "Do"

Camilla Belle's look is nothing short of dramatic. The dark lips, glittering column gown and severe chignon all seem to work together in perfect harmony. This ivory Ralph Lauren Collection piece fits her body to a T and I feel like she's totally channeling a roaring 1920's siren. Taking it one step further, she compliments the exquisite dress with the designer's Vintage Collection gems. Vamp it up Camilla!

Last but not least, Eva Mendes glammed up the carpet with this bright orange Prada choice. The peplum waist and two-toned embellished bodice is quirky and something that maybe only she could pull off. Eva matched her Prada clutch and Fred Leighton earrings fabulously. P.S. can I please have her hair?!

Steal Her Look For Less: Camilla Belle in Express

Summer is still in full force and before we hit September (Fashion week!) I thought it was time for another edition of Steal Her Look For Less. Or in this case - you can actually buy her look! The lovely and gorgeous Camilla Belle showed up to a Coldplay concert last week wearing this Express maxi dress:

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love it when celebs wear affordable style! With maxi dress continuing to be a trend you better hop on this train if you haven't already! They're my new favorite item and I literally can't stop wearing them. Camilla topped off the rest of her look with a red Chanel crossbody, some pretty floral sandals, a few bangles and layered necklaces. This is a look that you can easily re-create for your next summer outing that will have you looking great without feeling over styled. Plus crossbody handbags are my new favorite thing obsession. They free up your arms up to do whatever you need them for (drinking you champagne, holding stacks of clothes/shoes you plan on buying - whatever!) but still add a cool element to your outfit. While you may not be able to afford Camilla's Chanel bag (unless you're willing to shell out a few thousand...) I found some great options that will still have you rolling in style. Steal Her Look For Less: Celebrities in Gucci Spring/Summer 2011

I've been obsessing over the fact that COLOR! is so major right now! Based on the runways of Jil Sander, Versace, Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler, DKNY and so many more, it was a known fact that your wardrobe must be bright! And while sometimes color can be a little scary for those who stick to a neutral pallete, I think it's a great way to spruce up your look. This season's Gucci collection has been all about the color. Rich jewel tones with splashes of Gold make up the base while cut-outs and plunging necklines are just a few of the added details that make the S/S pieces so special. Plus I've noticed TONS of celebrities wearing the line over the past few months. Olivia Wilde and Camilla Belle are just a few...

And as of two weeks ago, Gucci S/S 2011 clothing has actually been featured on over 50 magazine covers [not to mention all the editorials I've seen too]. Pretty fabulous! I was totally inspired by this collection [take a look at the print campaign here and the runway show here] and determined to find some looks for less to add into my closet. I found that one store was delivering big time with this trend: Zara. I had been hunting everywhere for a Pink Maxi skirt that could match a look I saw at S/S 2011 Jil Sander runway show and Ashley texted me with a find! $60 bucks at Zara! (Hey that beats the 985 price tag!) So I rushed over to the Santa Monica Promenade location. The minute I walked into the store it was as if the rainbow exploded all over the place - in the best possible way. Oranges, Pinks, Greens and Blues were everywhere and in basic pieces like blazers, pants, mini skirts. I was in color heaven! I've always liked Zara but after all the pieces I fell in love with now I am obsessed! I want to share my finds with you dear readers but unfortunately for us, Zara doesn't have a U.S. online shopping site. However you can click on each piece below and be directed to the right place on the site to find what you're looking for. There you can find the colors and sizes that each one comes in and stalk your nearest Zara.

Plus I think there are so many more options than this actually in the store - you've just got to search for them! (That blue dress is so gorgeous and comes in Green, Pink, Yellow and White! Perfect for an outdoor wedding!) If you scoop anything up - let me know what you find.. I promise that you will not be disappointed!! :)

In ♥ With This: Camilla Belle in Silver Victoria Beckham Dress

It's only fitting that around the first anniversary of the "In ♥ With This" section that I would [unknowingly] pick the same gal! (Here's the first post) Saw this picture and I just had to share with you readers! Camilla Belle looked stunning wearing a silver sequined Victoria Beckham dress. Plus when photographed the top part of the two tone dress isn't as dark as it is on the Net-A-Porter site. She paired it with Sergio Rossi Cachet pumps and the Coach Kristin Elevated Crossbody bag. Girl looks amaze! Although she's been labeled an "actress" I really only know her for three reasons. 1) She was Joe Jonas' girlfriend. 2) She was in that move When A Stranger Calls and 3) She kills it on the red carpet all the time. What do you think? ☮ ♥ and Coachella 2011 - The Fashion

Happy Tuesday Loveys! I was recovering from my fabulous weekend in Palm Springs and wishing that I was still there. It was a HOT weekend filled with lots of margaritas, poolside play and relaxation. Our amazing hosts Dana & Steve really showed us how to do PS right! While we were running around (or biking I should say) the desert we noticed that the town was filled with Coachella concert go-ers. I felt like we stepped onto a show called "Who can look the most hipster/downtown/hippie chic?" Of course I loved seeing the street style "regular" gals wore but let's dive into a little celebrity style shall we?

These two were also a part of my favs from last year's Coachella picks. Both celebs kept their style easy, breezy and super laid back. Alessandra paired her cute neutral Rebecca Taylor dress with this fabulous Tolani Chakra scarf. This look is so easy to emulate! Find the brightest scarf you have, pile on some bracelets, add a pair of vintage boots and you're set! Kate Bosworth wore three looks like last year that I loved (especially her headwear!) So this year I was excited to see what she would wear! Kate is never one to shy away from a deal and her $45 Topshop Flag Shirt doesn't even need a look for less! Ms. Bosworth is also a huge fan of Isabel Marant footwear (among many of the designers pieces) She sported ankle booties at 2010 Coachella but I kind of love these lace up boots she's wearing. Looks like she also incorporated her Ray Ban aviators from last year's festival into her concert wardrobe. And of course she paired her look with... what else? JewelMint Jewelry from her own [affordable!] collection!

These looks are two of my favorite ways to dress. Isabel looks like she stepped straight out of Woodstock. One would think that pairing a ombre colored maxi skirt and crochet vest together might be overkill or Granny-fied. But she somehow manages to keep it fun and fresh. Love the headwear and her cross body bag. I am totally sold on this outfit. Camilla attended the Mulberry pool party at The Parker Hotel (I ate brunch there on Sunday. Ah-mazing) Her Mulberry Kilty blouse and light wash denim shorts surprisingly go together well. I love the bright pop of color with the sandals and the sunglasses. Try this pair for some tangerine footwear like hers. Either of these looks can be worn by you for some weekend shopping or just a relaxing day vegging out with friends.

I've become newly acquainted with Harley Viera Newton but so far I love what I see. She wears a lot of hats (model, DJ, photographer) but was labeled as an "Internet It Girl" based on her famous friendships and her MySpace page. In the first photo she was seen attending Mulberry's pool party wearing a lace dress from Juicy Couture (a kind of dressed down version of this Diane Kruger Look) along with Juicy sunglasses and a Celine Nano Mini Luggage handbag. Simple outfit with a major outcome - perfection. Next Harley wore Juicy Couture's Trellis Beaded Top (Currently on sale!) with a trusty pair of denim cutoffs (something every girl should own!!) Harley proved that basic staples (Juicy none the less!) and rotation of accessories (handbag, sunglasses and shoes) is the best way to travel. Love it all!

Lately I have been trying to decide on a title for a regular section I wanted to begin including on what I consider my writing haven. Often times, I find pictures of dresses, shoes, accessories, photo shoots or just outfits that I absolutely lust over. So I am tentatively starting this with the title "In ♥ With This" Any other suggestions provided by my loyal readers are greatly appreciated. :) So here goes....

Here is the stunning Camilla Belle attending the Metropolitan Opera Gala in N.Y.C. earlier this week. This dreamy Yves Saint Laurent dress is just too much for words - I am obsessed. Simple. Elegant. Lovely. Um and those shoes are perfection. Hope this inspires you loves this weekend! xoxo
