Game Day Outfit: Baseball Cap Glam

Today's post is a combination of 2 of my favorite things: A blogger collaboration and a game day outfit. I met Danielle last year at LuckyFABB/NYFW and we've been buds ever since. I love Danielle because she's witty, gorgeous, loves sports and so down to earth. Her posts are full of fun, fashion and humor. Plus she & I shared a love for PLL. So when she contacted me about a possible collaboration, she came up with the brilliant idea of a Game Day post showdown. You see, 1 flaw of hers (haha) is that she's a Miami Hurricanes fan, one of Florida State's biggest rivals. We play each other this weekend and it's a MAJOR game. We're both ranked in the top 10 and to say I'm stoked about it would a major understatement.

Danielle also challenged me to tackle The Baseball Cap trend, one that I've, frankly, been nervous to test out. So after you check out my outfit make sure you hop on over to Lou What Wear and check her look out (ummm she nailed it!)

State Traditions Florida State Tallahassee Baseball Cap c/o
Zara Metallic Peplum Cardigan (old but exact option here in black at L.Mae Boutique)
Express "Stella" Skinny Jegging (old)
Aaron Ashe White Silk Tank
Studded Heels via eBay || GiGi New York Uber Clutch in Saddle Pebble || ILY Couture sideways cross necklace & arrow ring || J. Crew Classic Bangles || Michael Kors Watch

Now this whole baseball cap thing is a major step out of my comfort zone. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sports-watching, beer-drinking, could even play video games kind of gal. But I love my sparkle... and my high heels.

I really wanted to have fun with this challenge and took some pointers from the gorgeous Samantha Ponder and fabulous bloggers like Cathy [Poor Little It Girl] & Christine [Hello Fashion Blog]. I stayed true to my style keeping my sky high heels and sparkly sweater in tow. To be honest, the hat gave my glam game day getup just the right amount of tomboy swag. I added on my fav GiGi uber clutch and some gold jewelry for girly flair.

It actually wasn't that hard since the State Traditions hats are really fabulous. It's a really simple design of the State's shape in your school's colors but it's an easy and stylish way to give your look that menswear punch. Plus.. they have about a bazillion options! You should also check out the cute selections for your guy like Game Day bow ties or Gingham plaid shirts.

Don't forget to check out Danielle's outfit... and Go Noles!!!

Outfit Post: Florals & Chambray

H&M Floral Print Trousers (old - similar)
Old Navy Chambray Oxford
Boutique 9 "Orson" Pump (old - updated style herehere)
Phillip Lim for Target Mini Crossbody (sold out) || Nordstrom BP "Flash" Sunnies (splurge option) || Michael Kors "Bradshaw" Rose Gold Watch (dreaming of the gold/black & the matte black version) || Maybelline "Fuschia Fever" hot pink lipstick

You can't really ever go wrong with chambray and floral print. It's like peanut butter and jelly. It just makes sense.

The whole time we were flying to Los Angeles, I kept singing the Diddy song "I'm Coming Home" until Bill just about wanted to punch me in the face. The backdrop from these photos is the perfect reason why - one of my favorite streets in Santa Monica. We had absolutely amazing weather while we were there and I wish we could go back all the time.

I know I've raved about it before, but let me say how much I heart this Maybelline hot lip lipstick. It's the perfect shade I was searching for and I'm tempted to go back and get the neon orangey color too. Sometimes I'm so brand loyal that I have to remember to step outside the box and try some new things every now and then. Thankfully this lipstick trial was a success! Do you have a favorite brand/color lipstick that you can't go without?

Oufit Post: A Taste of Summer in Fall

ASOS Leather Skater Skirt (sold out but similar ASOS version)
Sole Society "Elsa" Bootie (sold out)
ILY Couture Pia Handbag c/o (on sale!) || ILY Couture Fan Fringe Necklace || Stackable Number Rings via GroopDealz || Similar Cat Eye Sunnies || Revlon "Fuschia Fusion" Lipstick

We experienced some serious summer weather a few weeks ago, so I compromised with Mother Nature by sporting a crop top with a leather skirt and booties. I mean it was October after all! Thank Gosh crop tops were popping up all over the Spring/Summer 2014 runways. I've finally fallen in love with this trend and of course it's in the middle of a season change. Oh well, at least the 3 I've purchased will get serious wear once spring starts up again.

It's back to reality today after 8 days of vacation. I'm going to need an extra large Starbucks and lots of chocolate just to get through my blog's emails, let alone all my work emails! Oh yes - did I mention that I got a new job? It's been a little crazy in between all our trips, but I finally landed an awesome position as a Social Media Manager for a company here in Raleigh. I'm super excited and now that all of our vacations are over, it's time to take the bull by the horns!

This week is going to be packed to the brim so stick around! Happy Monday!! xo

To The Beach ---->

I swear I had every intention of blogging on my vacation.. outfits lined up.. wish lists to be posted.. comments to respond to....

But after taking 1 look at our "backyard" for 8 days (above) I knew all those good intentions had completely floated away. I promise I'll be back on Monday with new posts. Until then I'll be drinking Coronas and playing in the sea!

P.S. ILY Couture picked a winner for my Retail Therapy sweatshirt giveaway.. congratulations to Melissa from Melissa's Sweet Style! :)

Game Day Outfit: Florida State Scarf

Florida State GameDay State Scarf c/o ShopDandy
Ruffled Dress c/o Twelve Saturdays (old - last seen here)
JewelMint "Audrey Love" earrings || Sole Society "Heather" Booties (old)

Let me introduce you to the easiest way to make your Game Day outfit chic, stylish and totally tailgate worthy. The State Scarf. I discovered these on ShopDandy's website a few weeks ago and couldn't believe I hadn't seen them before because they're so genius. So when Danielle wanted me to style one for my BADxGameDay series, I absolutely jumped at the chance! I knew the garnet background would be the perfect backdrop for my gold dress and wedge booties. But as the months get cooler I plan on styling it with boyfriend jeans and a tee. Pairing it with a sweater, skinnies and boots is the quickest way to become GameDay ready.

Not only are they in your team's pantone matched colors, but the state is actually the print of the scarf! So brilliant right? Check out all the options that ShopDandy currently has:

Whether you're a Clemson fan, a Texas A&M Aggie, an Ole Miss Rebel or a LSU Tiger there are so many options! ShopDandy just restocked them but they go REALLY fast so you better hurry to get your hands on one!

On another note - we made it to Grand Turk so I'll be pretty MIA on social media for the next week. I have some blog posts coming but it will be nice to just unplug and enjoy this turquoise water! xoxo

3 Ways To Wear It - Tulle Skirt

Space 46 Boutique Ivory "Wendy" Tulle Skirt
Outfit 1: TopShop knitted chunky sweater || Sole Society "Skylar" ankle bootie || GiGi New York "All In One" Clutch in emerald
Outfit 3: Line & Dot sequin top || LuLu's SixtySeven "Layla" cut out bootie || Michael Kors "Bradshaw" watch in black/gold

Let's get real - what little girl didn't love twirling around in a bright pink tutu? I know I did! I'd put my ballet outfits on even when it wasn't time for me to go to the studio. There's something about a big ball of tulle that just makes a girl feel so giddy, am I right?

Well now that we're [kind of] adults it's time to bring back the tutu! But no, please. Don't make it bright pink and definitely don't make it short. The grown-up tutu skirt is now referred to as "The Tulle Skirt". Most of them are midi length and have been all the rage lately. I for one have had this Space 46 Boutique option on my wish list ever since I came across them on instagram one day. It seems to hit right at the knee, making it not quite a midi length, but still very ladylike. Can we also talk price? It's only 68 bucks!! That is a freaking steal compared to the almost $200 one Anthropologie put out last fall.

So here are 3 super fun (and super adult) ways I'd style this piece. The first outfit has a slightly western feel between the ankle booties and comfy sweater. The GiGi clutch keeps it feminie and girly. The second ensemble is a mix between comfy and casual. I mean, what outfit doesn't look good with a chambray button up, statement necklace and glitter heels? Last, but definitely not least, is just for this blog's namesake. A sequin top, chunky mirrored mules and the new version of my favorite watch are just what I need for my dream grown-up tutu outfit.

So what do you think? How would you style your Space 46 skirt? Oh and P.S. don't forget that today is the absolute last day for my ILY Couture giveaway!! I hope you've entered! xoxo

Blogger Collab: How We Wear Camo

I'm teaming up with my sweet friend Ashley for another blogger collaboration! These are getting to be so much fun :) Ash is a fabulous gal inside and out. I had the pleasure of getting to know her through social media and we finally got to meet up and hang out a few days before I left LA. Though it was short and sweet, I'm so glad we did because she totally rocks. If you don't already follow her, hop on over to her blog Ash'n'Fashn and prepare yourself to become obsessed. Girl's got style game. Like for real.

Today we're talking the trend that is here to stay - camouflage! See below for my outfit deets...

Gap Camouflage Printed Utility Jacket (very recent and on sale!!) || GAP V-Neck Tee (old)
Express Zelda Jegging (last season)
Chinese Laundry Riding Hood Boot gifted c/o Poor Little It Girl
GiGi New York Saddle Uber Clutch in Pebble Grain Leather c/o (use coupon code BAD for 15% off) || Forever 21 "BAD" Ring (very recent) || Revlon "Fuchsia Fusion" Lipstick

I'm overjoyed that the temps have dropped and I'm able to bust out all my cool weather favorites - including these boots. They've become a complete staple since I won them last year in a giveaway proving to be one of the most comfortable and most fabulous pair of boots I've ever owned.

But let's get to the center of this meat-n-potatoes dish, the camo jacket (I swear when I found it, there was a bright white light around it and little babies with wings playing harps and what not) I've been on the hunt for a while and Sunday was my golden ticket. Can I brag just a little bit more? I got it not only on sale but extra % off due to the Columbus Day sale. Holllllaaaaa! I'm going to wear it every which way under the sun and 'till the cows come home (and any other metaphor you can squeeze into my skinny jeans) It also comes in other colors and I'm seriously contemplating the blue color...

Shout out to my girl Ashleigh over at Fringe of Beverly Hills in Santa Monica for doing, yet again, a phenom job on the rats nest called my hair. Y'all need to go see her STAT if you'd like to be touched by an ombré genius. I still have a few back posts logged so beware of that scraggly mop that might show up a time or two in the future. Don't worry kids, it won't bite ya.....

Have you entered my giveaway yet? Hop on over for your chance to win the coveted ILY Couture Sweatshirt!

Enjoy your Tuesday, shop my look below and don't forget to stop by Ash's blog to see her style those freaking amazing camo trousers!

Outfit Post: Royal Purple Maxi

MM Couture Royal Maxi Dress borrowed & now available at Apricot Lane North Hills (white version here)
GiGi New York All In One Clutch in Sand c/o (use coupon code BAD for 15% off until 10/23)
Steve Madden "Hunnie" Block Heel Sandal
ILY Couture Sweet Candy Color Necklace || Blu Bijoux Hammered Pearl Bracelets c/o Max & Chloe || ILY Couture Arrow Ring c/o || Revlon "Fire & Ice" Red Lipstick

Now that we're almost half way through October (craaaaaaazy!) that means the holiday season is coming up soon. Don't worry, I'm not going to start talking about turkey legs or mistletoe just quite yet but I am starting to think about what I'm going to wear to holiday parties and events. I know it sounds crazy but no one was ever punished for planning ahead, right?

I am so in love with backless dresses but sometimes they just seem a bit impractical for certain occasions. That's why the cut out back on this dress from MM Couture's holiday line (and now available at Apricot Lane's North Hills location) is the best of both worlds . It hits at just the right place, allowing you to show a hint of skin yet keeps the overall look modest and appropriate for almost any juncture. I added gold jewelry with a neon statement (when do gold and purple not go together) and my most fabulous go-to clutch from GiGi. Don't forget that you can get a discount when you use code BAD at checkout.

Stay on the lookout for more holiday/seasonal party outfit ideas throughout the next few months! Happy Monday everyone! xo (P.S. don't forget to enter this giveaway!)

Blogger Collab: Ankle Booties for Fall

Today the lovely Amy from Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins  and I are showing you two different ways to wear everyone's favorite trend-turned-must have, ankle booties. Amy is gorgeous, has great style and is a recent RDU transplant! Can we talk about that jacket she's paired with her boots? I love the neutral pallete she's got going on. Make sure you stop by her blog to get all the details.

H&M Sequin Sparkle Sweater (old)
CYNTHIA Cynthia Rowley for Belk Butterfly Print Shorts (sold out)
Sole Society Elsa Western Bootie
Liz Claiborne Handbag (super old - similar here) || ILY Couture Fan Fringe necklace (sold out) || Christian Dior "Mohotani" Cat Eye Sunglasses

The weather hasn't exactly been cooperating with the calendar lately so my compromise right now are ankle booties with shorts and skirts. I think these shorter boots are a fabulous way to transition your spring/summer clothes well into fall. Even adding tights underneath dresses and shorts can help push those pieces into other seasons. Plus I think we're all aware of my bootie obsession. I just can't help it - they go with everything! What about you.. how are you sporting your ankle boots as of late?

We head back to Raleigh on the red eye tonight. Boo-hoo. We've seriously had the best time here in LA. I've been a bit absent on social media and to be honest - it's been really nice to just hit all our favorite spots, old hangouts and spend some quality time with friends Maybe I can make us miss our flight and we'll just have to stay an extra day. Hmmmm... I'll let you know how that goes. Hope you're enjoying your Wednesday!

Don't forget that this giveaway is happening RIGHT NOW and you don't want to miss out on it!!!

Outfit Post: Retail Therapy

ILY Couture Retail Therapy Sweatshirt c/o
Express Zelda Jegging (last season - new version here)
Boutique 9 Orson Nude Pump (old - similar style)
Phillip Lim for Target Mini Handbag (sold out)
ILY Couture Fan Fringe Necklace || Stackable Number Rings via GroopDealz (lusting after these LuLu Frost ones) || Caravelle by Bulova Rose Gold Watch (now on sale!!!) c/o LuckyFABB || Similar Sunglasses || Maybelline Fuschia Fever lipstick || Essie "Skirting The Issue" nail polish

It feels so wonderful to be back in LA. I seriously don't think that Bill is going to be able to get me on the plane Wednesday night. I might have a 3 year tantrum in the LAX parking lot.. and be fully OK with it. When we were taking these photos this AM, it literally felt like nothing had changed... Soaking it up kids...

Even though the weather on either coast is just about as confused as Miley Cyrus (it was 93 in Santa Monica yesterday) I'm still dressing like it's fall. Which is fine by me but I'm pretty sure other people must think I'm crazy :) I plan on living in this graphic sweatshirt from ILY Couture all fall/winter long so I want to get started as soon as possible. Sometimes dressing up a sweats with a pair of heels and a statement necklace is just what the doctor ordered. Keeping it stylish but feeling like I'm wearing pajamas? Bonus!

Pssssstttt... You'll probably want to come back to BAD tomorrow for a special collaboration I've got going on with ILY Couture. I mean there may or may not be a chance to score something.. I'm just saying...
